2000 NALTA Conference - Galveston, Texas

The 2000 Conference, held in Galveston, Texas, October 25-28, was a huge success!  There were over 250 people at the conference. We had several highly qualified speakers covering an industry-wide range of topics.  Our program was certified through NALTA, NADOA, AAPL, NARO, IRWA, and CLE.  We also had several vendors: Affirmations, Avatar Systems, GWIZ Systems, IKON Office Solutions, Paradigm Technologies, Petroleum Listing Service, Tobin International, NARO, and NADOA.

NALTA would like to thank the following for their generous support of our Conference:  Union Pacific Resources, Bank of America, Burlington Resources, Phillips Petroleum, Panaco Inc., Ellis Rudy, Thomas S. Carl, ALTA (Houston chapter), Ocean Energy, Dominion Exploration & Production, DFW-ALTA (DFW chapter), Houston Association of Division Order Analysts, TALTA (Tulsa chapter), Louis Dreyfus Natural Gas., The Land Department, Santa Fe Snyder Corp., Key Production, OCAPLTA (Oklahoma City chapter), Mustang Fuel Corporation, DALTA (Denver chapter), Larry Hamm, Michael Smith, Joan Robison, Jo Downing Hale, Martha Cheshire, Wayne Barbour, and Fred McDonald.  Portfolios were donated by Bank of America, and items were donated by Bank of America, Phillips Petroleum, Cross Timbers Oil, Petroleum Listing Services, Union Pacific Resources Co., Conoco Inc., Thomas S. Carl Oil & Gas Properties, Southwestern Energy, Burlington Resources, Chesapeake Energy Corporation, NALTA, Santa Fe Energy, IKON Office Solutions, Energen, NADOA, and Claire Van Hooser.

Special Event sponsors were Burlington Resources and Panaco Inc. for the Wednesday night President’s Welcome Reception, Phillips Petroleum and Ellis Rudy/Imperial Oil for the Thursday night “Hot Tropical Events”, Thomas S. Carl Oil & Gas Properties for Thursday session breaks, and ALTA (Houston chapter) for Friday session breaks.

It is because of the generous support from these companies and individuals that enables NALTA to provide quality educational events at an affordable rate.  We were also able to raise over $12,000 in cash donations.  Of course, a lot of this could have been David Nelson’s challenge to NALTA whereby he would wear a grass skirt and dance the hula.  And yes, he did.  See pictures below.

We look forward to the 2001 Conference  to be held in Tulsa, Oklahoma October 17-20 at the DoubleTree, Warren Place.  Contact Joe Anderson to volunteer to help with this conference.  I’m doing Publicity, can you tell?
