Presidents Message

Ah, Yes! Summer in Texas. August is on us and even though I hate to admit it, I think NALTA has to take some of the responsibility for the heat around Dallas. The DFW-ALTA chapter under the guidance of Risa Loudermilk, our Conference Chair, have been working diligently to present us all with the best ever NALTA Conference. I’m sure all of the hustle and bustle has something to do with the temperature.

Registration for the Conference is now available on the NALTA website. We have an outstanding program planned for the two day conference (Thursday and Friday), a wonderful full day seminar on Wednesday and a special Saturday educational event. The last day of early registration is August 26th. After that there will be a $100.00 late charge so sign up early and save your money for souviners from Dallas.

In keeping with NALTA’s support of Education and Certification, I would like to share the following announcement from our Entertainment Chair, Dawn Lindley:

NALTA is pleased to announce a new event to Conference this year. The CPLTAs of DFW-ALTA cordially invite everyone to attend the meet ‘n greet on Friday, Sept 30 at 5:30. “Whether you are a long time member, new member and new to the industry, and would like to learn about the CPLTA programs, we will be there to introduce ourselves, offer information, encouragement, support, and to answer any questions you may have. We really hope to see you there and this is at no additional charge!-Dawn Lindley, CPLTA”

Earlier this year we circulated a Compensation (Salary) Survey using Survey Monkey. I am pleased to say we had, right at 50% participation from our membership. Survey Monkey tabulates the replies and puts the information into graphs, pie charts and percentages. We are happy to announce the results will soon be posted on the website, www.nalta.org. The results can be accessed through the members area.

The election for the 2011 – 2012 Board closed on August 5th at midnight. The results will be published are shown below. Thanks to all who ran and/or volunteered to help NALTA in the next year. And, by the way, it is NOT too late to contact one of the members of the Current Board to help with the business of NALTA or at the upcoming Conference. Lend a hand! You’ll be surprised at how much fun it can be.
